We all have our dream job that we wish and hope to acquire someday. But some of us struggle with what that dream job actually is. I personally have no idea what I want to be “when I grow up”. So for those of you out there who are in the same confusing boat as I am, these little know jobs in the fashion and beauty industry might help spark some potential ideas, because working in the fashion industry doesn’t mean you have to be a model, photographer, or fashion designer.

Being a fashion blogger is an occupation that most people think you cannot make a living from, but you can! It is a fun and exciting way to help others in regards to fashion advice, where to get great deals, what trends are in, and how to feel and look your best. It is a very rewarding career choice and most of the times you can write blogs at home in your pajamas, nothing better than that right?! Being a beauty advisor is another little known job in the fashion and beauty industry. You can represent a cosmetic line in any store. As a beauty advisor, you would need to know all about that particular line and be able to provide customers information about all products in that line. This would include knowing how to use it, and what the benefits are. Having knowledge of other competing lines would be helpful as well.
A fashion forecaster doesn’t predict the weather; they predict the upcoming trends in the wonderful world of fashion. They foresee the long term fashion based on what is currently popular. They act as an essential source of information to fashion buyers and designers to help them determine what they should design next and what will be most popular in the upcoming months or years ahead.
Going shopping can be a job?! You bet it can be! Fashion buyers and stylists have the amazing opportunity to go out and shop. Although it can get tough working for difficult clients, it is all worth it in the end when you get a 10% portion of whatever your client purchases from your shopping endeavors. This career path is becoming so popular, that Lifetime produce a show about it called, “Million Dollar Shoppers” where you can see the ins and outs of being a fashion
Fashion Show Coordinator
Love the fast moving and thrilling atmosphere of a fashion show? Then being a fashion show coordinator might be the right job for you! Your duties would include, getting the models, planning the order of the show, sending out all invitations for the show, and making sure everything runs smoothly. It is an intense position but extremely rewarding as well.
