Cabin Fever Remedies

Lately, the weather has been, shall we say, less than welcoming. Especially, in my hometown of Chicago; over the course of the past few weeks, we’ve had below zero temperatures and tons of snow. Needless to say, I’ve spent a lot of time indoors. This inspired me to write about how to beat cabin fever. Here’s a list of my top six things I like to do when I’m stuck indoors.

Catch up

Rather it is a fabglamish blog post or doing some work for one of my clients, feeling all caught up makes me feel at ease. No one likes that nagging feeling of “you still didn’t finish*fill in the blank*” raining on their parade while they’re pigging out and watching Pretty Little Liars.

Read and write

I’m a fashion magazine junkie. There’s nothing more fun for me than getting in my coziest of cozy pajamas, and flipping through a fashion magazine, while taking notes. Yes, taking notes! I write down cool DIY ideas, take pictures of fashions I love and research models or designers that catch my attention. It sounds like work but when you have a passion for fashion, it’s actually pretty fun.

Snack and Relax

Nachos and Netflix! That’s how I relax. I love to eat. And cook! One of my favorite snacks is buffalo chicken nachos. It is relatively healthy but still delicious. Put on a little TV and I’m in heaven! Don’t like nachos? Try a new recipe that caters to your taste buds.

Plan

I am a natural planner. I have a five year plan, a ten year plan and even a twenty year plan. All consist of short, medium and long term goals for both my personal and professional life. I utilize vision boards a lot because sometimes seeing is believing. And the only way to reach your goals is to believe in yourself.

In Home Spa

As my bio states, I am a nail polish fanatic. I paint my nails at least once a week. I recently spent one of my snow days, doing my nails, straightening my naturally curly hair, giving myself a facial and taking a long bubble bath. I let out a sigh of relaxation just reliving it. Trust me you feel calm and cute after!

Get organized

Clean your closet, under your bed or even the fridge. Finding things is so much easier when you have them organized. We all have experienced that moment when you have overslept and you’re racing to school or work and of course can’t find anything you need, and then you bump into your crush looking like you got dressed in the dark. No bueno. I promise, you will thank me later!
