Valentine’s Day is right around the corner and many of us are having trouble trying to stir up something fun and creative for our loved ones.  Every couple has their own definition of what enjoyable or romantic is to them. So cancel those boring dinner reservations and try out something new and thrilling this Valentine’s Day!

For all of you romantic couples out there, these original and inexpensive Valentine’s Day plans are for you.

The Love Hunt

Take your loved one on a scavenger hunt either around campus if you are still in college, or at a local park.  Give them clues that relate to your relationship such as, “Go to the place where we had our first kiss”.  At the end of the hunt, you can present them with a gift of your choice.  This idea cost no money at all and is extremely romantic. It shows that you value them and your relationship and brings back special memories that you two share together.

Post-It Like You Mean It

Another gift idea that costs nothing at all is placing post-its around the house for your loved one to find that list reasons why you love them. You can do as many or as little reasons as you want, but I suggest 100.  You can make these reasons as silly or personal as you want depending on what type of couple you two are.

Puzzle Of Love

Another cost efficient gift is taking a picture of the two of you and turning it into a puzzle. This can be done on websites like “Snapfish” that allow you to take an image and turn it into whatever you want. It costs less than $10.00 and it is a fun activity that that two of you can do together.

If you and your significant other are more of an outgoing couple here are some different ideas for you both.

A Night On Broadway

Something that you might enjoy is going to a Broadway musical or seeing some type of show like The Blue Man Group, or Stomp. These shows are a great option because they are geared towards both men and women. They are exciting to watch and make for a great night out on the town.

Sport Fans

If sports are something that you and your loved one really enjoy, head to a sporting event like a basketball or hockey game! And to make the evening really special write a heartfelt message for them on the jumbo-tron to show how much you love each other and make them feel appreciated.

Just because it is Valentine’s Day doesn’t mean you have to do something romantic if that isn’t your “thing”. What is most important is that the two of you are spending time together. So this Valentine’s Day, skip the dinner and movie date that you do every single year and try something new!
